About the Network
Mission Statement
Rialto Community Network addresses poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion in the greater Rialto area. The organisation acts as a community resource to all residents and groups in combating these issues.
Equality Statement:
Rialto Community Network seeks to ensure that the service provided:
- Is free from discrimination, sexual harassment, harassment or victimisation;
- Accommodates diversity across the grounds covered by the Equality Status Acts 2000 to 2004 (gender, marital status, family status, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion and membership of the Traveller community);
- Seeks to benefit all who we come in contact with from across the nine grounds by promoting equality and implementing positive action where necessary;
- Makes reasonable accommodation for those with disabilities.
Rialto Community Network will not tolerate discrimination, sexual harassment, harassment or victimisation by employees and non-employees. Such behaviour may lead to disciplinary action (in the case of employees) and to other sanctions (in the case of others).
Strategic Aims:
The core aims of the Network are the foundation on which this plan is based, namely:
- Assist existing organisations in Rialto involved in Social and Community Development to improve and develop their capacity to plan, manage and operate new services and new programmes.
- Facilitate more effective partnership and co-ordination of the various agencies, services and organisations operating in the Rialto area.
- Address issues of childcare, families at risk, drugs use, unemployment and community policing in the Rialto area.
- Involvement in any other community development, education and training initiatives aiming to counter poverty in Rialto.
